In Munich on May 20, 2021, Lilium, a pioneer in regional electric air travel, unveiled its partnership with Luxembourg-based Luxaviation Group. Luxaviation, renowned in business aircraft and helicopter operations, will aid Lilium in expanding airline operations across Europe.

Lilium’s vision for a dynamic transportation ecosystem gains strength from its world-class partners. The agreement with Luxaviation harnesses their extensive 60-year track record in passenger service, managing hundreds of aircraft and holding 10 Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) across Europe.

Luxaviation oversees airline operations with a history including the first EASA AOC approval and active eVTOL certification. This encompasses securing necessary approvals and managing pilots, who will undergo training through Lufthansa Aviation Training’s Type Rating program, another Lilium partner. As Lilium advances its European launch networks for a 2024 commercial debut, Luxaviation collaborates closely to ensure an exceptional customer experience. This collaboration focuses on leveraging Lilium’s Digital Airline Platform and the 7-Seater Lilium aircraft, thereby enhancing service delivery.

Remo Gerber, Lilium’s Chief Operating Officer, expressed pride in partnering with Luxaviation, highlighting their innovative and customer-focused service in aviation.

Lilium has previously announced plans for the launch of networks in Germany with Munich, Nuremberg, Düsseldorf, and Cologne/Bonn airports.

The company aims to establish a sustainable and accessible mode of high-speed transportation using its 7-Seater Lilium aircraft. Renowned for its leading capacity, low noise, and high performance, this aircraft plays a crucial role in Lilium’s mission to build a robust network for transporting people and goods.
